Night Woman
Night Woman is a story of a single mother, working as a prostitute to support the family. She also wants to protect her son's innocent. She does not want his son know what love is even.
The narrator, the single mother, is an unnamed character
She categorizes women in ville rose into two kinds. One is Day women, one is night women. Day women has job and works mostly during daytime, and the night women are prostitutes. She "pity" day women having so many to do, but I do not know if she too wants to be a day woman.
Hibiscus is mentioned in the story frequently. It is a flower blooms during daytime and dies at night. This might be a symbol of the night woman, or the narrator. She lives during day taking care of her son. However, piece of her dies at night after her son goes to sleep, she will have to sell her to a married man. The flower is beautiful, but sad too. It is called infinite flower in Korea, because one flower blooms and die, another flower will take place. It symbolizes the night women's routine, live in a cycle. However, infinite flower is not immortal flower. The beauty fades and the lives end as time passes.
