Algernon welcomes Earnest and tries to get more information of Cecily from his friend Earnest. Cecily is Earnest’s ward, and Algernon is very interested in her. Through the conversation, Algernon finds out Earnest’s real name is Jack, and Jack is pretending to be Earnest, who is Jack’s imaginary brother.
