Plot:
the story describes a lunch break which a young lady stalks a day woman. The young lady sees ab old woman and recognized it is her mother. As she goes on, she recollects the words her mother has said to her. She saw her mother buying goods for a boy.
Thoughts:
1. The mother hides the job of nanny from Suzette. Possibly because of shame. She does not able to take care of her child.
2. Lived in Brooklyn, worked in Manhattan.
3. The bold letters are negative, sassy, judgmental.
4. The mother could be tough.
5. Generation gap
6. The daughter thinks her mother does not care of her. But the mother did not come to the parents' weekend because she felt ashamed. The daughter thinks her mother she is not proud of her.
