Improve Review
The show was fun and as an actor I did learn something from this production. For improve It was very important to accept the concept that your partner gives you. This principle was repeated multiple times but sometimes is hard to achieve. There are moments that the things the partner says would step out of the comfort zone so it is important to leave yourself on stage and forget about the person you really are. The other thing I learnt is the comedy is really about the pace. Pick a fast paced theme is more important than being funny. Most of the time the immediate reaction to the theme is what make the theme funny, not the jokes that you prepared for months. However, if the pace is slow, the thing will get boring quickly because it loses its excitement. I also learnt that, the difference between the first and the last night was the volume of the audience. If the second night has more audience, it is more likely that people will cheer for the stupid things. As long as there is bigger laughter, the audience will feel the energy which they will also give back to the actors. I think the actors were both feel down because the second night there was not many audience. As a new theater group, it is hard for the actors to come back alive and deliver the best of them.
It was fun at the end still! Although I made one inappropriate joke. Also I did not know Mr. Trier was sitting in the back watching me quietly yet angrily!!!
