He sees the misery of her family. He hates it but also knows he should be kind to the family. He also hates his unawareness of being kind, which he sees it as a trap of himself.
Amanda
An energetic woman, who lives in her fantasy. She loves controlling her daughter and pushing the daughter to approach her illusion.
The mother
The life designer, the promoter of her daughter.
She tries to make her daughter successful because she wants the dream of herself comes true on her daughter. However, she also will not admit her past is an illusion.
Laura
A miserable woman who is not quite meet the stander of the society. She has her own interest and not fit the criteria of her mother’s illusion. She overly trusts on her mother might lead to a misery.
The daughter
A student in a business school but she could not bear it.
The product. A puppet?
She loves art but her mother wants her to fit in the business career. She accepts the “trap”. Or maybe unaware that the kindness is a limitation.

Romeo and Juliet's First Expression

The first time that Shakespeare introduces Romeo is by the conversation between Benvolio and Romeo. He is sad about the refusal from the Rosaline. The emotion is so strong that he frustrates himself and unwilling to interact with his friends and parents. Simply say, Romeo is too in love that his love is hurting himself: “ Griefs of my own lie heavy in my breast.” (Romeo and Juliet 21) Later on scene 4, he has worries that something bad will happen during the party and thus unwilling to go. The dialogues Romeo and Mercutio have implied that his anxiety comes from Romeo’s dream. However, it does not suggest the contents of the dream. Based on Romeo previous action about love, I think the dream is about him and Rosaline. He feels fear about meeting Rosaline in the party. Chapter 8: This chapter talks about the journey of Desiree to the grand hotel. I think it not only notes how hard Desiree is on the way to her dream, but also a real state of the island. It was amazing how the author keeps our blinded as peasants in the beginning, not sure where we are. I was confused and scared at first with all the myths. And was blinded with peasants' one side argument about how widely the people on the island detach from each other. But through Desiree's journey, I finds that the trench between the poor and the rich are not as bad as I was imagining. There are different levels of the poor and the rich, Desiree is just unlucky to love the richest one. First I thought the story happens in a fantasy novel, with all the hierarchy and cruel king. I was wrong. It is a modern society, only that our main character comes from a forgotten no where. The narration of the journey thus makes the world of the story more wholistic.
