Romeo and Juliet's Adaptation

Theme:
Tragedy: loop, programmed, AI

  1. The love is driven by a superior force. programmed
  2. Two ordinary people are set in an unrealistic environment

Preset:
  1. A new game called Romeo and Juliet released. The highlight is that all NPCs are AIs, while Romeo and Juliet are less limited, under the personality, they act independently. The main story is kept track by certain key points. Players move other NPCs to form events happen in the city, the computer will adjust player's action automatically to meet the key points of the story.
  2. Romeo and Juliet are like artificial intelligence that is overall controlled by a superior power.
  3. Romeo and Juliet can react spontaneously, but key points are programmed. Such as Tybalt comes to slain Mercutio irrigates Romeo.
  4. The computer can keep the key points in check so that the story is on the right track.
  5. “Romeo and Juliet’s death” is one of the key points.
  6. Every Other character has no intention to be mutinied and own their own thoughts.
  7. Romeo and Juliet gain their own thoughts in the game.
  8. The superior power is play by multiple people as the game testifier.

I will do the Romeo and Juliet’s death scene. Before that, I will talk a little about the difference in the prologue and other scenes that is not presented in the origin.

Prologue:

  1. Begins with 3 people wearing white suits adjusting static original characters. Original characters are wearing the original costume.
  2. They are holding tablets in their hands.
  3. The conversations between these people will show that this is a game. “How well do you think it will be?” “very well, I suppose.” “How will this game to follow the origin if it has so much freedom that you could move every character around?” “Don’t worry, I have set many key points so that the story will be on the right progress.”  etc.
  4. Jump some scene. Present Romeo and Juliet’s death scene perfectly as the origin.

Scene 1:

  1. A person buys the game and play. He is sitting in the middle up stage. Every Time before the key points, he stops the game and moves people around. He makes every “almost catch” scene to “catch”. However, every time the game adjusts the situation cleverly.
  2. Romeo and Juliet find differences that the world is strange. Mercutio should not be killed and yet still dead. For example, Romeo stops Tybalt and yet Benvolio kills Mercutio and say he dislike Mercutio and Romeo at the very beginning. Romeo flees. Tybalt says he is going to tell the prince. Benvolio then kills Tybalt and lie to the prince.
  3. Romeo and Juliet think they are suffering. They then try to think of methods to make the world right.
  4. Thus they are more self-aware.

Other scenes:

  1. Set some key points that led to Romeo and Juliet’s death.
  2. Before each key points, original characters freeze and the gamer operates those characters.
  3. The gamer is always presented in the middle up stage.

Death scene: (without the gamer on the stage.)

  1. The gamer left to have a shower. He already gave the Friar Lawrence’s letter to Romeo. He hopes Romeo and Juliet can live together.
  2. Romeo sees Friar John’s message and knows Juliet is not dead. Romeo came back to the Friar cell.
  3. The Friar does not have self-awareness.
  4. Juliet comes and they reunite with joy.
  5. They then become serious about their next action.
  6. They tell the Friar they will go to mantua the next morning. Friar exits
  7. They discuss under frustration.
  8. They think other people are not right. They don’t belong in the world.
  9. They decide the only way to leave the world is to die.
  10. They find the Friar's poison
  11. Romeo does not want Juliet to die.
  12. Romeo drinks all of the poison.
  13. Paris did not find Juliet in the cemetery and goes to the cell sees Juliet alive.
  14. Paris wants to “marry” Juliet in the “serious” way.
  15. Juliet refuses and pull the sword from Paris and kill herself.
  16. The gamer returns sees Romeo and Juliet dead.
  17. Lights out

Ending:

  1. 3 white suits people present.
  2. “ Romeo and Juliet had too many independent moves in some extreme examples…What if the story was out of control? People are always afraid of that.”
“No need to overthink. Remember? Nobody will never, ever go off the key points.”
